The Pico Players at St John’s Smith Square
The Concept
To capture a series of photographs that reflect the latest sell-out performance from the Pico Players.
The Execution
The orchestra was founded in April 2014 and has grown to become one of London’s foremost amateur symphony orchestras. It performs several concerts each year as well as participating in many other community events. Its concerts raise money for charities suggested by the orchestra’s players. To date, it has raised over £75,000 for charitable causes.
Behind the Scenes
The Performance
The orchestra presented a programme of vibrant works inspired by America. Gershwin’s American in Paris and Bernstein’s flamboyant Symphonic Dances to his famous musical West Side Story precede Dvořák’s poignant take on the "New World” conducted by Leo Geyer.
