Together and Change 2023

Combination Dance performed ‘Together and Change’ - a flash mob for Pride 2023.

The Concept

The Pride weekend in London is more than just a festival; it's a profound statement of acceptance, equality, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. It originated as a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots in New York City in 1969, which sparked the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Today, the Pride weekend in London attracts millions of people from all walks of life, joining hands to celebrate diversity and advocate for a world free from discrimination. Combination Dance produced a flash mob centered around spreading kindness, emphasizing the importance of compassion and empathy in today's world. TODDCS was there to capture this event.

The Execution

Leadenhall Market, with its stunning architecture and vibrant ambiance, provided an enchanting backdrop for the first performance. Organized with EC BID and Arts Council England this event brought together renowned dance artists, Damien Anyasi and We Are Synthetics alongside professional and local dancers.

The next performance was part of Richmond Council's first-ever Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival in association with Discover Twickenham, Richmond Council, KDYoga, the Our Barn Community and Jules R Photography.

The Flashmob was hugely popular with many locals joining the fun and even some tears. Local businesses joined in including @sandysfishmongers @eelpierecords @cooperandsonstwickenham @refreshdentalhealth @brownesartisanbutcher @brewery_market @minthairandspa @churchstreetoftwickenham @riversidetrust @ruils_community @unitedresponse

The Impact
